Ladislav Semetkovský, Czech entrepreneur, pilot and author, is the CEO and co-founder of Primoco UAV SE, a Czech listed company which develops, produces and sells one of the largest unmanned civilian aircraft in the world. Primoco UAV aircraft are now flying across three continents in commercial applications. The company’s strong focus on research and development has supported its sales growth in emerging high-tech economies. The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic has certified the company as an approved production (POA) and development (DOA) organization, authorised to supply defence equipment to the Czech Army and NATO member countries. Primoco UAV aircraft are designed for both commercial and military use. They have advanced equipment and outstanding features, such as inter-continental remote control, superior endurance 15 hours and range 2,000 km in a quiet profile that can carry a 30 kg payload. The aircraft can be used for land, coastal and maritime border protection, monitoring strategic infrastructure, professional pilot training or special intelligence applications. Semetkovský has always been technology focused and started his career in 1997 founding the Media Online publishing house. The company expanded to becoming the leading operator of lifestyle webzines for homes and living across markets in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and Russia. Building on his success with internet portals, Semetkovský built thriving eBusiness solutions for mid-sized and international companies in the CEE region and beyond. In 2007, Semetkovský took on new challenges and started a business in Russia, launching the successful travel portal RUSSIAN TRAVELLER.RU.
Semetkovský’s first book, Business in Russia, is a practical and accessible guide for entrepreneurs who want to give their business an edge when expanding into the Russian Federation.
Semetkovský’s entrepreneurial skills and background in web and high-tech systems are combined successfully at Primoco UAV with his personal interest in aviation. The company is listed on the Prague Stock Exchange PX START market (ISIN CZ0005135970) and holds awards for its UAV technologies. It was ranked among the Top 100 innovation and technology companies in the Czech Republic in 2015 and 2016. Globally, Primoco UAV is one of only five organisations recognized under the European EMAR military aviation regulations.
Semetkovský is a qualified pilot for piston-engine and turbo-prop aircraft. He also collects 8-bit computers and speaks Czech, Russian and English.
