On June 1, 2021, the company successfully tested the emergency parachute ballistic landing system on the Primoco UAV One 150 at the factory airport in Písek-Krašovice. At an altitude of 100 metres above the ground, with a cruising speed of 120 km/h and a weight of 150 kg, the aircraft landed safely on the ground after a few dozens of seconds. The emergency parachute ballistic landing system is designed for critical phases of flight to protect the payload of the aircraft. The system was developed in co-operation with the Czech company Galaxy Holding, which is one of the best companies in its field. The company is thus fulfilling another of its objectives to increase operational safety so that its aircraft can operate in shared airspace with manned aircraft with the same level of safety.
Ladislav Semetkovský, CEO, commented: “The integration of the emergency parachute ballistic landing system is one of the ways to enable operations over areas of increased risk, such as populated areas, within the new European rules for the operation of unmanned systems. We are the first European aircraft manufacturer in the specific category under European regulations to integrate such a device. Parachute installation is primarily intended to reduce the impact energy of the aircraft in the event of in-flight emergencies, but it also has value for customers with aircraft equipped with highly sophisticated sensors, as it protects this valuable equipment from damage in the event of an emergency. Thanks to the fact that we could rely on Galaxy Holding’s long experience in the piloted environment, the tests were exactly as expected. This year the rescue system will become an optional part of our aircraft equipment.”
The Czech company Primoco UAV develops and manufactures civilian and military unmanned aircraft One 150. These are aircraft capable of flying completely independently according to programmed flight plans, including fully automatic take-off and landing. One of the key features of the aircraft is its exceptional endurance, thanks to which it can spend non-stop more than 15 hours in the air at a cruising speed of 100-150 km/h which represents a range of up to 2,000 km. With a maximum take-off weight of 150 kg and a payload of 30 kg, the One 150 can be used for a wide range of deployments in both civil and military operations. The company’s aircraft is currently used on three continents for inspections of product pipelines and distribution networks in the energy sector, ensuring border and coastal security, monitoring fires or in search and rescue operations. PRIMOCO UAV SE is a publicly traded company on the START market of the Prague Stock Exchange.
