After more than 25 years, aircraft are returning to Písek-Krašovice Airport. From 1965 the airport was used by the army. Initially an Mi-1 and Mi-4 helicopter squadron were based there and later it was the base of the state air defence using the Tupolev Tu-143 unmanned aircraft. The army shut down the airport in 1995.
The private civilian airport of Písek-Krašovice, ICAO code LKPK-U, is today a general aviation airport with a 600 meters long 16/34 runway.
